_ga
The _ga cookie is a primary identifier used by Google Analytics. It's a persistent cookie that gives each user a unique ID. This ID allows Google Analytics to differentiate between unique users and track their sessions and interactions across a website. For example, it can determine if a user is a new visitor or a returning visitor. The data collected helps website owners understand user behavior.
_ga_[followed by alphanumeric characters]
The _ga_[...] cookie is also a Google Analytics cookie, but it's a newer type often referred to as a "linker" cookie. The string following the _ga_ is a unique measurement ID assigned to a specific Google Analytics property (e.g., a website).
